About Maple Ridge
Maple Ridge is connected to Coquitlam via Highway 7, a more northerly route that connects the mission to the community of Stave Falls. It consists of the communities of Hammond and Pitt Meadows, separated from Coquqlam by the Pitt River and the Pitt River Bridge, and the town of Mission.
Maple Ridge, then known as Port Haney, was the third community to be incorporated into the new province of British Columbia in 1874. The foundation of the town of Maple Ridge was encouraged by the early settlers of the area in 1870 and by early settlers in Mission and Coquqlam, as well as by a number of early farmers and ranchers.
Maple Ridge has many historic areas, including the old town, historic downtown, and many that share the same heritage as the city itself, such as Thornhill, Cottonwood and Albion are some of the most popular neighborhoods in Maple Ridge.
With many amenities and a rich history, Maple Ridge is a great place for people who have access to everything you need, and close to Vancouver for everything else. For those who love nature and the convenience that the city offers, it is the perfect place to live, work and vacation in B.C.
Boasting stunning views of the Fraser River, the north coast of Vancouver Island and the Pacific Ocean, Maple Ridge is a dream for adventurers. From the soothing location of Kanaka Creek Regional Park with its picnic area to the picturesque trails and parks in town, it's a great city to settle in. With its close-to-home community and ability to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and nature all around, this is also a bigger city than settling in. It offers access to a wide range of amenities including parks, restaurants, shops, hotels, shopping and more.
