About Port Moody
Port Moody has a population of almost 35,000 and is located on the west side of the Fraser River, north of Vancouver Island. Port Moody is named after the city's first mayor, William M. Moody, and his wife, Mary, who lived in the area for more than 50 years before her death in a car accident in 1953. With over 2.5 million square feet of parkland, it is the second largest city in B.C. after Vancouver and the third largest in Canada after Vancouver.
Brewers Row has become a popular destination for locals and tourists to enjoy the best craft beer Port Moody has to offer. Beer lovers agree that this destination is one of the most beautiful places in the world for beer lovers of all ages. Compared to parts of Metro Vancouver that are not covered by conifers, the region is actually a nicer place in winter. It's a destination where some of Canada's best breweries are in one place.
Port Moody is part of an area known as the Tricity, which includes Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody. The Tri Cities area is located in the east, north and east of Vancouver and covers a total of about 1.5 million square kilometers. It is the smallest of the three cities in terms of population, bordering the port to the north, Burnaby to the south and Coquitlam to the west. In terms of population and density, Port Moody is smaller than any other city in Canada and borders the whole of Coquitlam in the south and Burnabies in the west. It is also the smaller of them, with a population of less than 500,000 people and a density of about 1,500 people per square kilometer.
